can I do it all?

This blog has been rather silent lately.  Not because of lack of desire, but because of lack of itme.  As much as I hate school and having to send my kiddos away every day, I love the routine and schedule. These kids have been US travelers for the month of Aug. and there will hopefully be several posts to come to make up for the silence:)

I've said it before, but we are a pretty strict 1-2 scheduled activity at a time family.  But, that isn't because of a lack of desire by my kiddos.  I thought, they can try something and then if they don't like it, we will try something else.  Well, so far, they like everything.  We tried 2 new sports while on vacation and they immediately wanted to take lessons or purchase the equipment.  Not only that, but in their little heads, they are the best at that specific thing.  Here are my equestrians.

When we got off the horse, A. had a million questions for the horse farmers:  How much do they eat?  How soon are the babies separated from their mommies?  How do I ride faster?  When she was told that some of our neighbors own horses, that was it.... Can we have one?  Can we have riding lessons? In a matter of 10 minutes she moved to , "Mom, I love riding horses and I could take care of it by myself.  You wouldn't even have to help me."  uummmm..... you just rode it for 15 minutes on a guided trail.  You arent exaclty ready for the Kentucky Derby yet....

The second sport was paddle boarding.  I agree with the kiddos on this one.  I want a paddle board!!! A. was a natural.  She hopped right on with Aunt Jenny and quickly progressed to boarding by herself.  She was doing yoga poses on the board within the first day.  Her daddy on the other hand, not so much.  According to him, the board was too short.  According to the rest of us, he should stick to kayaking.

We spent every day of vacation on the water.  Odd thing is, we COULD do both of these sports very easily where we live.  Can we do it all?  I definitely pick paddle boarding:)

1st grade

This is the same interview that we did on the first day of kindergarten.
1. What was your favorite thing?  My favorite thing at school was probably, like, recess.  Now I can go on the tire swing with Emily.
2.  What friends did you meet?  Oh, I meeted this girl named, I think, wait, a boy but he wasn't in my class.  He was the baddest one in Ms. Woodfields class.  He was in the green shirt with a number on it and hair like Luke.
3.  What did you learn?  I learned, hhmmm, oh, I learned that if somebody else is talking, you should raise your hand until the teacher calls your name.
4.  How was your lunch?  It was amazing.  I sat next to Emily S.  She had to move so she sat across from me and I was surrounded by boys.  They were so wierd.  They kept pretending to be a dinosaur and pretending bite me.  I am number 3 in my class and the boys were number 1 and 2
5.  What do you want to do when you grow up?  I want to be a farmer and a day care worker.
6.  Anything else that you want to tell me?  I AM 6 and I turned 6 last week, by the way.
